Acknowledgment of Risk
Participation in roller skating classes involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, collisions, and other physical impacts. These risks may result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, or damage to personal property. By enrolling in the program, participants and/or guardians fully accept these risks, whether known or unknown.
Medical Authorization
In the event of a medical emergency, SkatingHour staff or instructors are authorized to seek necessary medical treatment. Any expenses arising from such incidents are the sole responsibility of the participant or their legal guardian.
Release of Liability
SkatingHour Corp., along with its owners, employees, instructors, and agents, is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during participation in roller skating activities, including those resulting from negligence.
Photographic and Media Release
Photos or videos may be captured during classes and used by SkatingHour for promotional purposes across platforms such as social media, websites, and print materials. No compensation will be provided for this use.:
Safety & Participation Policy
In accordance with recognized standards for recreational sport safety and participant welfare.
1. Mandatory Safety Equipment
All participants are required to wear appropriate safety gear to reduce the risk of injury. This includes:
A properly fitted helmet (CSA-approved helmets are strongly recommended).
Wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads (strongly recommended for all skaters).
Participants who do not arrive with the required safety equipment will not be permitted to participate. No refunds or credits will be provided.
2. Responsibility of Parents/Guardians
In accordance with the standard of care required under provincial sports safety guidelines:
It is the sole responsibility of parents or guardians to ensure their child is wearing all required safety equipment prior to entering the session area.
Instructors and program staff are not responsible for individually checking each participant’s gear for proper fit or use.
3. Participant Liability
If a participant removes their helmet or any other safety equipment during the session, they do so at their own risk.
SkatingHour Corp. will not be held liable for any injuries, incidents, or consequences resulting from the removal or misuse of required safety equipment.
4. Skate Preparation
All skates must be properly secured and adjusted prior to entering the activity area.
Improperly fitted or unsafe skates may result in the participant being asked to step out until the issue is corrected.
5. Punctuality Requirement
Timely arrival is essential for participant safety and program flow.
Participants arriving more than 20 minutes late will not be allowed to join the session.
No refunds or credits will be issued for missed sessions due to late arrival.
6. Compliance with Staff Instructions
All participants are required to follow instructions provided by coaches and staff at all times.
Instructors have the authority to remove any participant from the session and/or suspend future participation without refund, if the participant:
Fails to comply with safety rules
Engages in unsafe or disruptive behavior
Poses a risk to themselves or others
Payment Policy
Full payment for all registered classes must be made prior to the program start date.
Participants who have not completed payment in full will not be permitted to join the class.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Our cancellation policy is intended to maintain fairness and clarity for all participants
Pre-Season Cancellation
You may cancel your registration up to 72 hours before the first session.
All requests must be sent via email to contact@skatinghour.com.
Requests submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.
Missed Classes
General Attendance
Participants are expected to attend all scheduled classes.
If unable to attend, 72-hour notice via email is required. Without it, the missed class will be charged in full and no refund, credit, or make-up session will be offered.
Make-Up Class Option
If you miss a session, you may:
Attend another class in the same week at a different available location, OR
Attend two sessions the following week (if available).
All make-up sessions must be arranged in advance and are subject to availability.
Contact our team to check options and confirm availability.
Travel Plans
If you are planning to travel, please notify us at least 15 days in advance via email.
If a make-up class cannot be scheduled, a credit note will be issued, valid for one year from the date of issuance.
Rescheduling
One reschedule per participant is allowed during the season, with at least 72-hour notice.
Make-up classes are subject to availability. If no slot is available, the missed session will be charged in full with no refund or credit.
Medical Emergencies
In case of medical emergencies, you may submit a request for a partial credit (not a refund).
A doctor’s note is required.
Requests must be made before your third session begins.
Credit requests will be reviewed by the team and are not guaranteed.
Approved credits will be valid for one year from the date of issuance and can only be used for future programs.
Coach/Organizer-Initiated Cancellations
Postponements
In case of class postponements due to unforeseen issues, participants will be notified, and the class will be rescheduled (even on short notice of under 24 hours).
Cancellations- If a class is canceled by the organizer, a credit will be issued toward another program.
Weather or Facility-Related Cancellations
Classes canceled due to weather or venue issues will be either rescheduled or credited, at no extra charge.
Refunds are not available unless rescheduling is not possible

By enrolling and participating in our roller skating programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by all the terms and conditions stated above, including the safety guidelines, payment policy, and cancellation procedures.
