Almost every child was able to pick up the basics, which speaks volumes about the quality of teaching. Such young, talented instructors showing so much patience and care with the kids. Acknowledgment of risk, policies, and participant guidelines for SkatingHour classes.
Participants acknowledge that roller skating, roller skating, and inline skating are inherently risky physical activities. These risks include, but are not limited to, slips, falls, collisions with other participants, loss of balance, equipment failure, contact with rink boards or barriers, and varying or slippery surface conditions.
Participants understand that participation may result in minor or serious injuries, including but not limited to bruises, cuts, sprains, fractures, concussions, head injuries, spinal injuries, paralysis, permanent disability, or death. By enrolling, participants and/or their legal guardians voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, associated with skating activities.
Participants confirm that they (or their child) are physically and medically fit to participate and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions. The use of helmets, skates, gloves, and other protective equipment reduces but does not eliminate the risk of injury. Failure to follow safety instructions or wear required equipment may increase injury risk and may result in removal from the session without refund or credit.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants and/or legal guardians release, waive, and discharge SkatingHour Corp., including its past, present, and future directors, officers, shareholders, owners, employees, coaches, instructors, contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns, from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in skating activities, including skating-related injuries, accidents, property damage, or losses, whether arising from negligence or otherwise.
In the event of an injury or medical emergency, SkatingHour staff or instructors are authorized to seek emergency medical treatment as deemed necessary. All medical expenses incurred are the sole responsibility of the participant or their legal guardian.
Participants and/or their legal guardians grant SkatingHour Corp. the irrevocable right and permission to photograph, video record, and otherwise capture the likeness, image, name, voice, and performance of the participant during classes, sessions, events, or related activities.

Participants waive any right to inspect, approve, or control the finished product or its use.
This consent is voluntary, perpetual, and irrevocable, and applies to all uses permitted by law.
In accordance with recognized standards for recreational sport safety and participant
welfare:
All participants are required to wear appropriate and properly fitted safety
equipment at all times during skating activities to reduce the risk of injury. Required and
recommended equipment includes, but is not limited to:
Participants who arrive without the required safety equipment, or whose equipment is deemed unsafe for participation, will not be permitted to participate. No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions will be provided in such cases.
Parents and/or legal guardians expressly acknowledge that they are solely responsible for ensuring that their child:
This responsibility applies regardless of any statements, guidance, assumptions, or informal assistance provided by coaches, staff, volunteers, or third parties.
Participants and/or legal guardians expressly acknowledge and agree that SkatingHour Corp., including its past, present, and future directors, officers, shareholders, owners, employees, coaches, instructors, contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns, do not assume and expressly disclaim any duty or obligation to:
Any assistance provided by SkatingHour personnel is purely voluntary, does not transfer responsibility, and does not create a duty of care, warranty, reliance, or representation of any kind.
Participants acknowledge and agree that removal, misuse, improper fitting, or failure to wear required safety equipment at any time during the session is done entirely at their own risk.
SkatingHour Corp. shall not be liable for any injury, incident, loss, or consequence arising from the removal, misuse, improper fit, or non-use of required or recommended safety equipment.
All skates must be properly secured, fastened, and adjusted prior to entering the ice or skating surface. Participants with improperly fitted, unsecured, or unsafe skates may be asked to step out of the session until the issue is corrected.
Time spent addressing equipment issues does not extend session time and does not qualify for refund, credit, or make-up.
SkatingHour Corp. may, at its discretion, offer skate and/or helmet rentals for select sessions. Rental equipment is provided strictly on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis and is intended solely as a temporary option.
SkatingHour does not guarantee the availability of rental skates or helmets for any session. Availability may vary by location, size, condition, or session capacity. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own properly fitted skates and helmet.
Participants and/or legal guardians expressly acknowledge and agree that:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkatingHour assumes no responsibility or liability for any injury, discomfort, loss, or negative experience arising from the use of rental skates or helmets.
The responsibility for ensuring proper fit, suitability, and safe use of rental equipment rests entirely with the participant and/or legal guardian, regardless of any assistance, advice, or availability provided by SkatingHour staff, coaches, or volunteers.
Participants who arrive without their own skates and helmet, and who are unable to obtain suitable rental equipment, will not be permitted to participate in the session.
Failure to participate due to lack of skates, helmet, or suitable rental equipment does not qualify for a refund, credit, or make-up. The session will be considered delivered and fully charged.
Timely arrival is mandatory for participant safety and proper program flow. Participants arriving more than 20 minutes late will not be permitted to join the session.
No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions will be issued for missed participation due to late arrival.
All participants must follow instructions from SkatingHour coaches and staff at all times. SkatingHour reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove any participant from a session and/or suspend future participation without refund or credit if the participant:
Full payment for all registered classes must be completed prior to the session. Participation is not permitted unless payment has been received in full and confirmed.
Issuance of an invoice, provision of a payment link, or allowance of a longer payment due date does not guarantee, reserve, or secure a spot. A registration is considered confirmed only upon full payment.
All program spots are allocated on a first-come, first-paid basis. If payment is not received and the session reaches capacity, SkatingHour reserves the right to deny entry, even if an invoice has already been issued or a payment deadline has not yet passed.
Unpaid or partially paid registrations will not be held, reserved, or protected in any manner. SkatingHour assumes no obligation to secure or retain a spot until full payment has been received.
Participants requiring skate and/or helmet rentals must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled session start time to allow sufficient time for equipment allocation and preparation.
Participants who arrive less than 30 minutes before the session start time may be denied access to rental equipment, subject to availability and operational constraints. In such cases, participation may be denied, and the session will be considered missed.
No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions will be provided for failure to arrive within the required rental preparation time.
Skate and helmet rental, when available, is offered at a flat fee of $15 plus applicable taxes per session. The rental fee applies regardless of whether one item or both items are rented.
Rental fees are non-refundable once the session has commenced or rental equipment has been issued.
By enrolling in and/or participating in any SkatingHour program, the participant and/or legal guardian expressly agrees to the following terms:
All sessions are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable. No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions will be provided for any reason, including but not limited to illness, injury, personal conflicts, travel, vacations, missed classes, or dissatisfaction with coaching or program structure.
Participants and/or guardians are solely responsible for reviewing their availability prior to booking. Any known absences, including vacations or personal commitments, must be disclosed before registration. Sessions missed due to undisclosed or post-booking conflicts remain non-refundable and non-creditable.
In the event a session is canceled by SkatingHour due to unforeseen circumstances (including coach unavailability or operational issues), SkatingHour will, at its sole discretion: Reschedule the session, or Issue a credit toward a future SkatingHour program if rescheduling is not feasible. No cash refunds will be issued.
Sessions canceled due to weather conditions, facility closures, or municipal decisions will be
rescheduled or credited where possible. Refunds will only be considered if rescheduling is not
feasible and solely at SkatingHour’s discretion.
If the facility remains open—even during adverse
weather conditions—the class will proceed as scheduled. Failure to attend under these circumstances
will be treated as a participant absence, and the session will be considered delivered and fully
charged.
No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions will be provided for participant absences for any reason, including but not limited to weather concerns, illness, personal scheduling conflicts, or transportation issues.
By enrolling and participating in our roller skating programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by all the terms and conditions stated above, including the safety guidelines, payment policy, and cancellation procedures.
